Street Lamp Update

Fort Bend County MUD 57 Residents, through a contract initiated with Centerpoint Energy in June of last year, all the street lights throughout the district are being converted to LED bulbs. The new lights will provide a brighter & more energy efficient upgrade to the area. You may see Centerpoint on your street in the coming weeks (or recently) as they work to change out all of the street lights. We do not have a specific route or service completion date at this time.

How do LED street lights compare to traditional lighting?

• Use about 50 percent less energy
• Lower greenhouse gas emissions by 5 percent
• Last significantly longer, with less maintenance
• Perform better, directing light to intended areas
• Reduce light pollution
